One way to help fight childhood cancer is by donating to charities dedicated to funding patients and research. With your donation, you could help a family pay for treatment, further research, or provide patients with extra support. Here are some of the most notable childhood cancer charities.
Childhood Cancer Research Charities
St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital – St. Jude focuses on eliminating childhood cancer, and conducts research funded by people like you. It is one of the world’s most recognized pediatric hospitals and was created to provide children with quality care, “no matter their race, color, or creed.”
Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation – Alex’s Lemonade Stand is the “largest independent charity dedicated to childhood cancer research.” This foundation was created by Alex who experienced cancer as a child and wanted to help other children with cancer. They have a One Cup at a Time Club who donates monthly, or you can give a one time donation.
The National Pediatric Cancer Foundation – This foundation has a specific goal in mind: “to find more effective and less toxic treatments for childhood cancer.” They offer multiple ways to give, including monthly, cryptocurrency, even your vehicle! They even offer products that donate a portion of the net proceeds to further research.
Children’s Cancer Research Fund – Their goal is to “close the funding gap” for the scientists with big ideas. They partner with a variety of businesses that donate a portion of their sales to research efforts. They offer multiple ways to donate, including donating stocks.
CureSearch for Children’s Cancer – They focus on providing funding for areas that are pushed to the side, including cancers with lower survivability rates. They also focus on translational research, so that patients can see the benefits from research as quickly and efficiently as possible.

Charities to Support Children with Cancer
Make-A-Wish Foundation – Financially fund the wishes of children with cancer with this foundation. Not only is it a great way to show support for a child, but it also provides “strength, hope, transformation, and community” to help the child through their treatment. There are a lot of donation options, including airline miles.
Ronald McDonald House Charities – This charity helps families through treatments by helping with lodging and meal costs. Their priority is helping families stay together and relieve financial stress. They have a house, family room, and care mobile programs available to become involved with. You can volunteer, donate, fulfill a wish list, and more.
THON – THON is the largest student-run philanthropy that does its work “For The Kids.” They partner with the Four Diamonds Fund to raise money for families to help them through cancer treatment. Their events build community, excitement, and hope for children and their families by dancing for a cure. You can donate, volunteer, or participate directly with THON if you are near Penn State University in Pennsylvania.
