Soothing Nausea and Dry Mouth During Cancer Treatment

Soothing Nausea and Dry Mouth During Cancer Treatment - RockTheTreatment - YouTube

Our very own Stacy Berk, founder of Rock the Treatment, explains in this video some of the different products that are included in our cancer care packages that help with the side effects of nausea and dry mouth during cancer treatment.

peppermint candy cancer gifts

The peppermint candies that are included in some our care packages, for example, are not just in there by accident. Peppermint is an ingredient known to help settle your stomach. Sucking on these candies can help offset some of the nausea and settle your stomach after treatment as well as activate salivary glands and help with dry mouth.

Peanut butter sandwich crackers are included in some of our care packages. Appetite is often a problem with chemo patients and sometimes patients can not even receive their chemo treatments unless the patients eat something. The crackers have protein in the peanut butter which help with energy and the crackers can help with the nausea.

cancer kit quesy pops

One of the favorite items we include in our gift baskets are the queasy pops. These ginger-based candies are safe for anyone to have and are all-natural. They come in a bunch of different flavors and do not have a strong ginger taste but help with the nausea related to chemo treatments.

Another item included in some of our cancer gifts are eye pillows. They are filled with flax seeds and can be heated or cooled and are scented with eucalyptus and mint. Mint can be helpful for both headaches and nausea. You can heat it in the microwave or keep in the freezer for either hot or cold relief.

acupressure wrist bands

We also carry acupressure anti-nausea wristbands. You may be familiar with these from being used for motion sickness. Two wristbands are included that are machine washable. The dot on the inside of the wristband when placed properly on the wrist puts pressure on a specific spot that helps with nausea. These can be added on to any of our cancer care packages.
